For our office files, if you do not already have an electronic copy of your files, you simply scan the documents and place them into the system, where they’re stored electronically in Paperless Pipeline. We’re saving hundreds of reams of paper, not to mention storage space and file cabinets.
We have scanned all of the offices past files into the system for 2009 and we won’t have any paper archives after 2010 since we’re required to keep records for only three years. When we dispose of the previous records, we will have them shredded and recycled.
